Activities Unlimited HomeThis is a featured page

Welcome to the AU Wiki. This is a pilot project and aims to build a definitive reference tool for Suffolk social care professionals. It will contain social care terms and information and will be available for anyone to view. Professionals working within social care will be able to add to and edit the information contained on the Wiki - following an enrolment process and approval from Suffolk County Council. Professionals will also need to set up an account with WetPaint, our partners in the Wiki project. If you have any questions please contact the Activities Unlimited team on 01473 832971 or email info@activities-unlimited.co.uk

The main question areas we discuss are:

Types of Service/Levels of Need

The types of service provision are now known as Universal, Targetted, Specialist and Highly Specialist. These types of service have replaced the previously known "Tiers of Service". It is important that the initial contact point is with a Universal services as these are suited to the majority of needs. Application for a Targetted service should only be made when all universal options have been explored.

Services Included on this Wiki

The services have been included to promote and widen the appreciation and knowledge of information available to parents and professionals. It is important that the owners of these services take on the responsibility for maintaining the information included in this wiki.

Is there a page on the AU site with clear details of how Individual Budgets work, how you can access and send them? I think it is such a fantastic idea and we have started to make use of ours (hoping it will be re-awarded in April!) but I still don't feel clear what is and what isn't possible, and whom you contact.
